Obama and Palestine
On November 4th 2008, America elected the first Black president in the history of the United States. His minority status showed just how much America progresed toward freedom and equality.
Now, Obama neglects Palestine's plea for freedom.
Obama needs to walk the walk to talk the talk.
Last September, Obama spoke before a UN Assembly and said that “when we come back here next year, we can have an agreement that will lead to a new member of the United Nations - an independent, sovereign state of Palestine, living in peace with Israel.”
Now Palestine has been firm in their request for an upgrade from their UN status as a nonvoting observer entity to an observer participant state.
By ignoring his promises, Obama is denying Palestine their human rights. America ceases from being a liberator and becomes a perpetrator of inequality. It is clear that Obama is just another political puppet.
